Few days back I whipped up a batch of these short bread cookies for snacks.These are excellent to serve as finger food for kids/also pack in snacks box.I took the basic recipe from here and altered the quantity.Also I used cherry preserve instead of orange marmalade.I have used whole wheat flour instead of maida,so the color of my cookies were tad dark..Tastes best when served warm with a cup of milk/tea.You can slightly warm them oven if serving next day.Cherry preserve short bread cookies recipe
Star ingredients:Whole wheat flour& cherry preserve/jam
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup butter
3/4 cup sugar
4 tablespoons cherry preserve
A pinch of salt.
4.Preheat oven to150C.bake the cookies for 20-25 minutes.
1.You can use maida or a combination of wheat and maida instead of wheat flour.
2.You can use any fruit preserve or even any jam in this recipe.
