Capsicum cauliflower masala recipe with step by step photos. Come January, our local market gets loaded with cauliflower, it is my favorite vegetable and I religiously buy one whenever I visit market. I bought a very fresh head of cauliflower and wanted to try some new cauliflower side dish. I saw some green bell peppers in fridge and made this super quick capsicum cauliflower masala recipe.
Capsicum cauliflower masala recipe turned out to be so flavorful and delicious. I served this with rice, but you can very well serve this capsicum cauliflwer masala with roti, even you can make masala dosa with this filling.
To make capsicum cauliflower masala recipe, use fresh tender cauliflower. I have just sauteed the cauliflower before adding to the masala. You can however shallow or deep fry for making the capsicum cauliflower masala more special.
You can use various colored bell peppers to make the masala more visually appealing. You can use any of your favorite spice powders, here I have used just chili powder and turmeric powder, made this masala with south Indian flavors.
Serve capsicum cauliflower masala with rice/roti/dosa. You can even make quick sandwich for toddlers and kids with this easy capsicum cauliflower masala!

Capsicum Cauliflower Masala Recipe Step by Step
1. Parboil cauliflower florets with a dash of turmeric powder and salt. Drain and set aside for 15 minutes to let the florets dry a bit. Sprinkle some cornflour and toss well.
2. Heat 2 tablespoons oil and fry cauliflower florets until they turn slightly golden. Remove to a plate and set aside.
3. Remove excess oil from the kadai, retaining about 2 teaspoons. Add mustard and cumin seeds. let them splatter.
4. Add thinly sliced green chilies, crushed ginger-garlic and saute till the raw smell goes off. Add finely chopped onions and saute till the color changes slightly.
5. Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute well till the tomatoes turn mushy.
6. Add chopped green bell peppers and mix well. Add salt, sugar, Turner powder and chili powder. Saute till the bell peppers are cooked. ( do not over cook, the bell peppers should retain their crunch).
7. Add the fried cauliflower florets and mix well. Saute in high flame for 2 minutes. Add chopped cilantro leaves and mix well. Serve capsicum cauliflower masala hot with rice/roti.

Capsicum cauliflower masala | Gobi masala with cauliflower
1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1 cup cauliflower florets
- 1 cup chopped bell peppers
- 1 onion finely sliced
- 1 to mato finely chopped
- 2 green chilies
- 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves
- salt
- oil
