Dahi batata puri recipe is a famous chaat recipe that I make whenever we crave some chaat. It is very very easy to make compared to many other chaats.

If you have chutneys and fried puris handy, this dahi batata puri recipe can be made in less than 30 minutes. It is just assembling job. Even you can have everyone assemble their own dahi batata puri as per their taste.

To make dahi batat puri recipe we need fried small puris used for paani puri, sweet chutney, green chutney, finely chopped onion, tomatoes and cilantro leaves, plain curd, fine sev and optional pomegranate. This is a very mildly spiced chaat. You can add more chili powder if you want it spicy.

Serve dahi batata puri immediately once made.

Step by step dahi batata puri recipe.

1. Boil, peel and crumble the potatoes. Do not mash it. Add salt and cumin powder to the potatoes and mix well. Chop onion, tomato and cilntro leaves very fine.Mix well and keep ready.

2. Take required number of fried puri and arrange on a plate. Make a hole in the center of each puri. Stuff some potato in each poori. Sprinkle some chili powder. Drizzle some curd into each poori. Next add sweet and green chutney as required. Top with onion, tomato and fine sev. Add more curd or chutney as needed. Serve dahi batat puri immediately.

Ingredients

  • 20-25 ready to fry or fried paani puri
  • 1 large potato boiled, peeled and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup boiled moong optional
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Chili powder as required
  • 3/4 cup yogurt/ curd whisked well with some salt and sugar
  • Salt
  • For topping
  • green chutney
  • Sweet chutney
  • Finely chopped onion tomatoes, cilantro leaves
  • Fine sev

Notes

1. Adjust spice level as per taste
2. You can a dash of cumin and chaat powder in curd.
