Preheat oven at 180C. Line a muffin tray with liners.
Take, sugar, water and lemon juice in a mixing bow. Stir and mix very well. Add oil and turmeric powder to it. Mix thoroughly.
Sift wheat flour, salt, baking powder and soda over the wet ingredients and mix well. Spoon in the batter in the prepared tray. Top with dried berries if required.
Bake in preheated oven for 15-18 minutes. Serve lemon muffins warm or cool thoroughly to frost.
Notes
1. You can use wheat flour or plain flour 2. Avoid adding vanilla. 3. Instead of zest you can add lemon essence.
