Ingredients

For making veg masala

  • 2 medium carrots peeled and grated
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 tomato chopped
  • 2 green chilies chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • coriander leaves
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds

To make masala toast

  • 6 bread slices
  • butter or oil for toasting

Instructions

To make veg masala

  • Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a pan.
  • Add chopped onions and saute well till they turn soft.
  • Add green chilies and saute
  • Add chopped tomatoes, spice powders, salt and mix well.
  • Saute till the tomatoes turn mushy
  • Add carrots and saute for 2 minutes. Add lemon juice, coriander leaves and mix well.
  • Remove from flame and let it cool a bit.

To make masala toast

  • Heat a tava.
    Spread butter or oil on bread slices and toast till they crisp up on hot tava.
  • Spread the prepared masala and toast again for a minute.
    Serve bread masala toast hot with coffee.
