Ingredients (1 cup=250 ml)
  • 1/2 cup corn flour
  • 1 1/2 cups + 1 cup water
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons ghee
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
  • 3 tablespoons chopped nuts
Instructions
  1. Mix corn flour with 1 1/2 cups water well without lumps.
  2. Mix sugar with 1 cup of water and bring to a rolling boil.
  3. Add the corn flour mixture and keep stirring in medium flame
  4. The mixture will begin to thicken and turn glossy.
  5. Add ghee in parts, 1 tablespoon at a time.
  6. Once the mixture turns completely transparent and all the ghee is absorbed it will resemble jelly.
  7. Now add nuts and cardamom powder. Mix well and remove from flame. You can set the halwa in a tray or serve as such.
