  • For jalebi
  • 2 big apples or 12 peeled apple rings
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon melted ghee
  • oil for deep-frying
  • For sugar syrup:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • Few saffron strands
  • 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder


  • Add yeast and sugar to 1/2 cup lukewarm water.Let the yeast get activated.
  • Take flour, cardamom powder, ghee and a pinch of salt in the mixing bowl. Add yeast water and mix well. Add required water and make a thick lump free batter.
  • Prepare sugar syrup of one string consistency with the mentioned ingredients.
  • Heat oil or ghee for deep frying.
  • Dip an apple ring in the batter and coat well. Deep fry until golden brown.
  • Drain excess oil and dip in the sugar syrup. Let soak for 2-3 minutes.
  • Arrange in a plate and garnish with chopped nuts. Serve apple jalebi as required.
