Ingredients

  • 20-25 ready to fry or fried paani puri
  • 1 large potato boiled, peeled and crumbled
  • 1/4 cup boiled moong optional
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • Chili powder as required
  • 3/4 cup yogurt/ curd whisked well with some salt and sugar
  • Salt
  • For topping
  • green chutney
  • Sweet chutney
  • Finely chopped onion tomatoes, cilantro leaves
  • Fine sev

Instructions

  • Boil, peel and crumble the potatoes. Do not mash it. Add salt and cumin powder to the potatoes and mix well. Chop onion, tomato and cilntro leaves very fine.Mix well and keep ready.
  • Take required number of fried puri and arrange on a plate. Make a hole in the center of each puri. Stuff some potato in each poori. Sprinkle some chili powder. Drizzle some curd into each poori. Next add sweet and green chutney as required. Top with onion, tomato and fine sev. Add more curd or chutney as needed. Serve dahi batat puri immediately.

Notes

1. Adjust spice level as per taste
2. You can a dash of cumin and chaat powder in curd.
