Ingredients

  • 1 cup idli batter
  • 1/2 cup thick carrot puree
  • 1/2 bell pepper chopped
  • 1/2 cup pearl onions chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon channa dal
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 2 green chilies
  • 10-12 curry leaves

Instructions

  • Take idli batter in a mixing bowl. Add carrot puree to it and mix well.
  • Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a small pan. Temper with mustard seeds. Add urad dal, channa dal, curry leaves and chopped green chilies. Saute for 2 minutes. Add chopped onions and bell peppers. Add little salt if required. Saute well for 5 minutes.
  • Add this veggies mixture to the idli batter and mix well.
  • heat an appe pan and grease each mould with few drops of oil. Spoon in the batter and cook for 3-5 minutes until paniyaram is well cooked and turns golden. Serve carrot paniyaram hot.
