Ingredients

  • 3 cups all purpose flour/maida
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1/3 cup sliced almonds
  • 1/4 cup fresh cream
  • 2 teaspoon active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon + 2tablespoons sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Measure 1/4 cup luke warm water in a mixing bowl. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and dissolve well. Sprinkle 2 teaspoon yeast over and it and proof it.
  • In the meantime combine 1/4 cup fresh cream, 1 cup diced strawberries, 2 tablespoons sugar ,1/4 cup water and 1 tablespoon olive oil in a small pan. Mix well and cook over medium flame for 3-5 minutes. Let cool to room temperature.
  • Sift the flour over activated yeast. Add the strawberry mixture and mix well. Add sliced almonds and combine well.
  • Now start kneading the dough. The dough will be sticky. Do not add more flour. Knead till the dough turns soft and supple. Set aside for 1.5 hours.
  • Once the dough is doubled in volume, punch it back and knead for 2 minutes.
  • Now roll the dough into a thick circle.
  • Roll tightly and shape into a log.
  • Place the log gently in the prepared loaf tin and cover with a damp cloth. Set aside for 30 minutes
  • Preheat oven at 220C.
  • After 30 minutes the dough would have raised in the tin. Now bake in the hot oven for 35-40 minutes. The crust will brown well and become crispy and hallow. Once done, allow the bread to cool well before slicing. Serve with butter.

Notes

1. You can use any nuts of your choice or leave out nuts too.
2. You can use butter instead of olive oil
