Ingredients

  • For lollipops
  • 1 cup finely chopped veggies
  • 2 big potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
  • 2 tablespoons corn flour
  • Salt
  • pepper powder
  • Oil for frying
  • For dipping sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes
  • 2-3 garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce

Instructions

  • Boil, peel and mash the potatoes very well.
  • Chop the other veggies very finely.
  • Take the mashed potatoes and veggies in a mixing bowl.Add corn flour, salt, pepper powder, chili flakes and mix very well. Do not add water.
  • Shape into small logs like lollipops. Insert a toothpick or lollipop stick into each log.
  • Heat oil for shallow frying. Shallow fry 2-3 lollipops at at time until golden brown. Arrange in a serving plate.

To make dipping sauce

  • Heat 2 teaspoons sesame oil in a small kadai. Once the oil is hot add crushed garlic, chili flakes and saute well. 
  • After the raw smell goes off add 2 tablespoons tomato sauce, 2 teaspoons soy sauce and mix well. Add 1/4 cup water and cook till the sauce thickens. Drizzle this sauce over prepared lollipops. Serve veg lollipops garnished with spring onion greens.

Notes

1. You can deep fry the lollipops if you wish
2. You can add ginger garlic paste to the lollipops.
