Green peas tikki

Green peas tikki, green peas stuffed rava tikki, an excellent filling and healthy snack for toddlers and kids!

Ingredients

  • For outer covering
  • 1/2 cup fine rava
  • 1 cup water
  • salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • For filling:
  • 1 cup green peas
  • 2 green chilies
  • 1/2 " ginger piece
  • Salt
  • Sugar
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Oil for shallow frying

Instructions

  • First boil or steam green peas until well cooked. Once done mash it slightly. Add salt, sugar, crushed ginger green chili to the mashed peas and mix well. Set aside the filling.
  • To make outer cover bring 1 cup of water to rolling boil. Add fine rava to the hot water and stir well without lumps. Add salt and sugar. Mix well. Keep aside till rava absorbs all the water. Once done knead to a smooth dough. Apply some oil in the palm and knead well.
  • To make cutlets: Divide the dough into 10 small balls. Divide the filling into 10 equal portions. Now take a dough ball and flatten it slightly. Place the filling and close the dough disc from all the sides. Now press slightly and shape like a cutlet. Make 10 such cutlets.
  • Shallow fry the shaped cutlets in batches. Fry till they turn golden brown. Serve green peas tikki hot.

Notes

1. You can add finely chopped cilantro leaves in the filling
2. You can grated carrots in the filling
