Ingredients

  • For pudding batter:
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 70 grams butter room temperature
  • 40 grams dark chocolate
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup-3/4cup milk
  • Vanilla extract
  • For sauce
  • Sugar to sprinkle on pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups to 2 cups water
  • 1-2 tablespoon instant coffee powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven at 180C. Grease an eight or nine inch baking pan well and set aside. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl.
  • Melt butter and chocolate well until smooth and glossy. Add sugar and mix very well.
  • Pour the chocolate mixture to the sifted dry ingredients and mix well. Keep adding milk as required to make a smooth batter. You may need around 3/4 cup milk.
  • Pour the pudding batter into the prepared baking pan. Sprinkle sugar all over it.
  • Bring 1 1/2 of water to rolling boil. Add 2 tablespoons instant coffee powder and mix well. Boil for 2-3 minutes. Pour this coffee on the pudding batter.
  • Bake in the hot oven for 30-35 minutes at 180C.
  • Serve chocolate pudding hot with whipped cream or ice cream.

Notes

1. Add 2 cups water for gooey sauce, for a bit thicker sauce use 1 1/2 cups water.
