Ingredients

  • 1 cup cubed paneer
  • 1/2 green bell pepper cubed
  • 1/2 red bell pepper cubed
  • 1/2 yellow bell pepper cubed
  • 1/2 teaspoon + 2 teaspoons cornflour
  • 1/2 teaspoon+1/2 teaspoon pepper powder white or black
  • 1/4 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 2 teaspoons red chilli sauce
  • 1/4 cup spring onion whites chopped fine
  • 1/4 cup spring onion greens for garnish
  • 3 tablespoons oil
  • salt

Instructions

  • Wash,pat dry and cube the bell peppers. Cube the paneer and set aside.
  • Chop the spring onion whites and greens and set aside separately.
  • Toss the paneer cubes with corn flour,salt and pepper powder. Heat oil in a shallow frying pan and fry the paneer cubes till slight golden from both sides. remove to a kitchen towel and set aside.
  • In the same pan,add the chopped green chillies,spring onion whites,ginger-garlic and saute well for 5 minutes.
  • Add the cubes bell peppers and mix well. Saute in high flame for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add salt,pepper powder,sugar,soy sauce and red chilli sauce. Mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add 3/4 cup water and bring to a boil.
  • Add 1/2 teaspoon cornflour in 1/4 cup water and add to te boiling sauce. Mix well and cook till the sauce thickens.
  • Now add the fried paneer cubes and mix gently. Cook for 1-2 minutes. Garnish with spring onion greens and serve chilli paneer gravy hot with fried rice.

Notes

1. Add salt cautiously as we are adding salt in multiple stages also sauces contain salt.
2. This gravy thickens with time,so do not add more corn flour
3. You can add vinegar along with sauces too.
