Potato Sandwich (Aloo Sandwich)

Potato sandwich or aloo sandwich is a quick, delicious and easy to make breakfast or snack recipe that toddlers and kids will love. It is a vegan recipe, I have used vegan butter and can be made within 30 minutes. You can easily use any leftover potato curry and make this sandwich in 10 minutes!

Ingredients

  • 6 bread slices
  • 2 teaspoons oil or butter

For potato filling

  • 400 grams potatoes boiled,peeled and mashed.
  • 1/2 cup green peas
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons cumin seeds
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Instructions

To make potato filling:

  • Boil,peel and mash the potato well.
    boiled, peeled and cubed potatoes
  • Heat a pan and add 2 teaspoons oil.
  • Add cumin seeds and let them crackle. Add peas and mix well. Saute for few minutes
  • Add mashed potato, salt and all the spice powders, Mix well and cook for 4 minutes.

To Make Sandwich

  • Take the bread slices and trim the edges. Apply oil or butter on the bread slices
    buttered bread slice
  • Place 2-3 tablespoons of prepared potato filling on one bread slice. Cover with another slice.
  • Toast the in a sandwich maker or tava until crisp. Serve potato sandwich hot or pack in tiffin
    veg cheese sandwich ready

Notes

1. You can use the edges of the bread for making bread crumbs.
2. You can add ginger garlic in the filling.
