Sugar less oats ladoo recipe is a very healthy and delicious snack with oats,dates and nuts. white sesame seeds provide a very nice crunch! Very fancy treat for kids and toddlers.

Ingredients

  • 20 dates
  • 3/4 cup quick cooking oats
  • 1/4 cup almonds and cashews
  • 2 tablespoons white sesame seeds
  • 4 teaspoons ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder

Instructions

  • Soak dates in very hot water for 2-3 hours. Use little soaking water itself and grind to a very smooth paste.
  • Dry roast almonds,cashews and white sesame seeds. Dry roast oats separately until nice aroma wafts out.
  • Allow to cool and grind oats and nuts into a coarse powder.
  • Heat 2 teaspoons ghee in a kadai and add the dates paste. Mix well and cook in low flame for 3-5 minutes.
  • Add the ground oats-nuts mixture and mix well. Add 2 more teaspoons of ghee and mix well. Cook till the ghee starts leaving out the sides (4-5 minutes). Add cardamom powder and mix well.
  • Remove the mixture from flame and allow to cool slightly.
  • Apply some ghee on hands and shape the mixture into small ladoos,insert a lolly pop stick if needed. Let cool thoroughly. Serve or store sugar less oats ladoo airtight.

Notes

1.White sesame seeds adds a very nice crunch,do try to add them.You can add pistachios,walnuts etc as per taste.
2.You can soak some raisins along with dates.
3. Instead of oats you can add cornflakes too.
Vegan notes: You can easily leave out ghee in this recipe,just follow the same recipe and add 2 teaspoons of coconut oil if needed in place of ghee.
