Easy Granola Recipe

Easy granola recipe on stove top with jaggery instead of sugar. If you like granola or museli types for breakfast then you will love this homemade easy no bake granola dearly. Made with organic rolled oats, ragi flakes and the goodness of assorted nuts and seeds this recipe is sure a keeper.

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup ragi flakes or corn flakes
  • 2 teaspoons ghee or oil
  • 1/2 cup mixed chopped nuts almonds, walnuts, pistachios
  • 1/2 cup mixed seeds sunflower, hemp, flax, chia, pumpkin seeds
  • 2 tablespoons black raisins
  • 2 tablepoons dried blue berries
  • 2 tablespoons dried cranberries
  • 6 dried dates chopped
  • 3/4 cup powdered jaggery
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Heat a pan and add the measured rolled oats into it. Dry roast the oats in low flame for good 10 minutes until nutty aroma wafts out. Remove to a plate.
  • Add measured ragi flakes or corn flakes in the same pan and dry roast it too for 5 minutes. Remove to a plate too.
  • To the same pan add 2 teaspoons ghee or oil and fry the chopped nuts and seeds. Remove them to a plate.
  • In the same pan add the powdered jaggery and melt in low flame. Once the jaggery is completely melted, vanilla extract and mix.
  • Add the roasted ingredients and mix very well. Continue to mix and cook in low flame for 4-6 minutes or until the granola turns dark golden brown.
  • Remove from flame and spread in a plate. Break any lumps and let the granola cool thoroughly. Store in a clean dry jar and serve granola as required.
