For Bread balls Stuffing
- 2 large potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed
- 1 cup grated or crumbled paneer
- 2 green chilies sliced
- 2 tablespoons cilantro leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon minced ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala powder
- salt to taste
To make and fry bread balls
- 12 bread slices
- water as needed
- Oil for frying
Making Paneer Filling For Bread Balls
Boil, peel and mash two large potatoes.
Combine mashed potatoes, crumbled paneer, chopped cilantro leaves and green chilies, spice powders and salt in a bowl. Do not add any water.
If the mixture is too loose you can add 1-2 teaspoons corn flour. Mix well and make small balls from the mixture. Your filling is ready.
Preparing And Frying Bread Balls.
Heat oil for deep frying
Take a bread slice and trim off the edges. Dip the bread slice in water for a second and quickly squeeze the water. Place the bread on a flat surface and stretch a bit using a rolling pin. Place a paneer balls and close from all the edges. Form a ball.
Slide the prepared balls in the hot oil. Fry until crispy and golden from all sides.
Drain excess oil. Serve bread balls with green chutney
- You can replace paneer with tofu or just omit it for vegan option
- The recipe can be doubled
