  • 1 medium sized cauliflower or 2 cups cauliflower florets.
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 2 garlic pods
  • 1 teaspoon pepper powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • Salt
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds


  • Par boil cauliflower florets with a pinch of salt and turmeric powder.
  • Drain and set aside.
  • Heat a pan with 3 teaspoons oil.
  • Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, fennel seeds and curry leaves. Add crushed garlic pods and saute well.
  • Add onions and saute for 2 minutes.
  • Add the par boiled cauliflower florets and mix well.
  • Add salt and pepper powder. Saute in medium flame for 5-7 minutes. Serve cauliflower pepper fry with rice and sambar.
