- 2 big ripe tomatoes
- 1 big onion finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon jaggery
- 10-12 curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon channa dal
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 2 teaspoons oil
- Salt
Chop onion and tomatoes finely.
Heat a pan with 2 teaspoons oil. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal, channa dal and curry leaves.
Add sliced onions and saute till they turn soft
Add chopped tomatoes, salt, chilli powder and turmeric powder. Mix well and saute in low flame for 5 minutes
Add 3/4 cup water and simmer till gravy consistency is reached. Garnish with coriander leaves. Serve Tomato gotsu hot with idli
