Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup ragi or finger millet flour
  • 6 tablespoons besan or gram flour
  • 2 tablespoons fried gram dal flour/ pottukadalai maavu
  • 2 teaspoons melted ghee
  • 1 teaspoon sesame or carom seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • A pinch of asafoetida
  • Oil for deep frying
  • Water

Instructions

  • Add all the ingredients except oil and water in a mixing bowl.
  • Add water gradually and make a soft stiff dough.
  • Heat oil for deep frying. Once the oil is hot maintain medium flame.
  • Make murukku by loading the dough in murukku press. Serve ragi butter murukku as snack
