- 1/4 cup peanuts roasted
- 2 large tomatoes chopped
- 3-4 dried red chilies
- A small piece of tamarind
- 1 teaspoon oil
- To temper:
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- curry leaves
Dry roast and rub the skin off the peanuts.
Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan and fry 3-4 dried red chilies. To that add 2 chopped tomatoes, a small piece of tamarind and saute well till the tomatoes are cooked. let cool thoroughly.
grind the sauteed tomatoes, along with roasted peanuts and required salt.
In the same pan, heat 2 teaspoons oil. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves. Add to the prepared chutney and mix well. Serve peanut chutney with dosa or idli.
