  • 3/4 cup mashed banana OR 3 medium sized very ripe bananas
  • 3/4 cup multigrain flour OR
  • 1/4 cup whole wheat flour 1/4 cup bajra flour, 1/4 cup jowar or besan flour
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 4 tablespoons cane sugar
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons warm water or any nut milk or dairy milk Use as little as needed
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1/4 cup chopped walnuts
  • Topping
  • Oats dried blueberries, chocolate chips.


  • Take the peeled bananas in a mixing bowl. Mash thoroughly with a fork. The mashed fruit should measure 3/4 cup. Preheat oven at 180C and prepare a muffing tin by placing liners.
  • To that add 1/3 cup olive oil and 4 tablespoons cane sugar. Add vanilla. Mix thoroughly.
  • Sift multigrain flour and baking powder along with a pinch of salt over the wet ingredients. Mix until incorporated.
  • Add chopped walnuts and fold in gently
  • Pour the batter in the liners until 3/4th.
  • Top with oats, dried blueberries and chocolate chips. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until done. Serve vegan banana muffins warm.


1. You can use any strong flavorless oil instead of olive oil.
2. You can use just wheat flour or maida instead of multigrain flour
3. I used 1/4 cup warm water to adjust consistency. you can use milk or soy milk or even apple or orange juice.
