Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon milk powder
  • 100 grams or 1/2 cup soft butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons curd
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped cilantro leaves
  • 20 curry leaves finely chopped
  • 6-7 green chilies very finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper powder
  • Salt

Instructions

  • Take butter and sugar in a mixing bowl. Cream well until light and fluffy.
  • To this add whole wheat flour, milk powder, salt and mix well.
  • Add finely chopped curry leaves, cilantro leaves, green chilies. Also add white pepper powder and mix well.
  • Add 2-3 tablespoons curd and make a dough. Do not knead very hard.
  • Cover the dough in a parchment or butter paper and chill in fridge for 20 minutes.15 minutes before baking preheat oven at 180C
  • Roll the dough into thick circle. Cut out cookies of desired shape. Arrange on a well greased baking tray and bake in hot oven for 12-15 minutes. Serve khara biscuits with coffee.

Notes

1.You can use maida instead of wheat flour
2. You can use even use fresh mint leaves but do not leave out cilantro leaves
3. You can add 2 tablespoons grated cheddar to the dough
