Some Tips For Best Fruit Custard Salad:
You can make the custard sauce well ahead and refrigerate. Add cut fruits just before serving else they will loose their crunch.
Add fruits to the custard only after it cools down completely to avoid curdling.
Instead of sugar you can add honey or jaggery powder. But add honey only after the cooking and cooling the custard a bit.
The custard sauce will thicken on cooling. Do not make it very thick initially.
To make special fruit custard I have added few drops of rooh afza after making the custard. You can also add rose syrup or pistachio extract.
Instead of using many fruits you van use just one fruit and make this recipe.
Serving Suggestions
Serve fruit salad with custard chilled as dessert topped with nuts. You can double or triple or halve the recipe.
Any leftovers can be refrigerated for 2-3 days in airtight containers. I would suggest to store the sauce and fruits separately.
