Ingredients

  • 200 grams strawberries fresh or frozen
  • 2 cups ice cream soft, vanilla or strawberry flavor
  • 1 cup milk frozen or very cold, use 3 cups if not using ice cream, can use almond milk for vegan version
  • Sugar to taste optional

Instructions

  • Pick ripe, red strawberries and soak them water mixed with few drops of vinegar or salt for few minutes.

  • Hull the berries and chop them roughly. Place the chopped berries in freezer for an hour. Along with berries also freeze 1 cup milk. Using frozen or almost frozen milk in milkshakes will yield a very creamy thick shake. Also place the glasses you want to serve the milkshake in freezer for 15 minutes.

  • When you are ready to make milkshake bring the frozen ingredients out. To a blender jar, add frozen berries and milk. You can add few drops of 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract too. I used vanilla ice cream so skipped adding extract.

  • Blend until smooth.

  • Now add 2 cups soft ice cream (1 pint) and sugar to taste. If you prefer your milkshake mildly sweet, skip sugar.
