  • 6 bread slices
  • 4 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon soft butter OR 3 tablespoons + 1 teaspoon olive oil.
  • 4-5 garlic pods peeled and finely minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro leaves OR 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves


  • preheat oven at 180C for 10 minutes.
  • Take 6 bread slices and arrange on a baking sheet. Brush some butter or olive oil on each slice.
  • Place the tray in the preheated oven and toast for 3-4 minutes.
  • In the meantime take 3-4 garlic pods and mince very finely. Add chopped cilantro leaves or dried basil to the softened butter along with garlic pods. You can add little soft if using unsalted butter. Beat very well until all the ingredients are incorporated well.
  • Take the bread slices and flip sides. Apply the garlic butter on all the slices equally.
  • Return to the oven and toast for about 7-10 minutes according to the preferred crispiness. Serve garlic bread toast along with soup or just as snack with tea or coffee.


1. Add butter or olive oil or a combination of both as per your choice.
2. You can use any bread like whole wheat,multi grain etc.
3. You can use oregano, thyme etc instead of basil.
