  • 2 large potatoes boiled, peeled and cubed
  • 1 green or 1/2 each red, green and yellow bell pepper, cubed
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Salt
  • 3 teaspoon oil


  • Pressure cook or steam cook potatoes until soft, pell and cut into cubes. Cut capsicum int cubes.
  • Heat 3 teaspoon oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it temper. Now add finely chopped onions and saute well for few minutes.
  • Add the cubed capsicum and saute well.
  • next add cubed potatoes and saute well.
  • Add salt,coriander powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and saute for 8-10 minutes ta regular intervals in medium flame. Add 1-2 teaspoons oil if required.
  • Cook till the capsicum wilts and potatoes are thoroughly cooked. Serve aloo capsicum hot with rice/roti.


1. You can ginger garlic along with cumin seeds
2. You can add pepper powder instead of chili powder.
