Crispy and mildly spiced double fried potato wedges,aloo tuk is a sindi special snack/side dish !

Ingredients

  • 3-4 large potatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon amchur or chaat masala powder
  • Salt
  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions

  • Wash and scrub the potatoes thoroughly and peel the potatoes.
  • Cut the potatoes into wedges and immerse in cold water for 10 minutes.
  • Heat oil for deep frying,fry the potato wedges in hot oil until they are just cooked,take care not to change the color now. Remove to a kitchen towel and press slightly. Sprinkle salt and toss well.
  • Now deep fry these wedges again in hot oil until they turn crisp and golden. Remove to a kitchen towel.
  • Add all the spice powders to the fried wedges and toss very well.
  • Serve aloo took hot as side dish or snack with coffee.

Notes

1. Here I have made them into wedges,but you can also cut potatoes into thick circles.
2.You can make this with taro root/arbi/sepankizhangu too,but par boil it before frying.
