Indian Badam Milk Recipe (Badam Dhoodh)

Ingredients

  • 25 whole almonds
  • 500 ml Whole Milk
  • 3 tablespoons sugar
  • 1/8 teaspoon saffron strands optional
  • 2 green cardamons only pods
  • 3 tablespoons slivered almonds and pistachios garnish

Instructions

  • Soak whole almonds for 6-8 hours and peel off the skin. Alternately you can quickly blanch the almonds
  • Boil 2 cups or 500 ml whole milk.
  • Take blanched almonds, sugar, saffron strands and cardamom pods in a mixer jar. Add 1/4 cup warm milk and grind to a smooth paste.
  • Add the ground paste to the remaining boiled milk. You may simmer it for 5-10 minutes if preferred. Garnish with slivered almonds, saffron and serve badam milk warm or chilled.
