  • 2 large raw bananas peeled and cubed
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 1 teaspoon urad dal
  • 10 curry leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • salt to taste


  • Peel and cube the raw bananas in same size.
  • Heat 2 tablespoons oil in a pan. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves.
  • Add the chopped vazhakkai and mix well. Saute for 4-5 minutes.
  • Season with salt,chili powder and turmeric powder. mix well.
  • Cook in medium flame for 15-20 minutes. Stir frequently and saute till the poriyal turns crispy. Serve hot.
