Watermelon Juice

Watermelon juice is a refreshing, thirst quenching and healthy juice that you could sip all day during summers, which also happens to be watermelon season.
If you are like me, a big fan of watermelon I am sure you have fruit lying in the counter, why not make some juice which is a perfect drink for these hot days? It is a perfect mid morning drink , a post workout drink to regain your energy and also the best way to keep yourself hydrated.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups watermelon cubed
  • 1 teaspoon ginger chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Instructions

  • Cut and cube a watermelon. For 3 servings of this juice you will need about 6-7 cups of chopped watermelon.

  • Add the cubed melon in a blender jar. Add peeled and chopped ginger. If your fruit is not sweet enough then add 1-2 tablespoons sugar or honey now.

  • Blend at high speed until you get a smooth juice. Add 2 tablespoons lemon juice and blend again. You can also use lime juice instead of lemon juice.

  • Pour watermelon juice to a serving glass and serve this refreshing watermelon juice immediately. You don’t have to strain the juice but if you really want to remove the watermelon pulp then pass it through a fine mesh strainer once.

Notes

  1. To make chilled juice you can refrigerate the cubed fruit for few hours and then blend. You can also add ice cubes but it will thin down the juice.
  2. If you use sweet watermelon you can easily skip sugar. Instead of sugar you can also use honey, maple or date syrup. You can also use simple syrup if you have.
