  • Wet ingredients:
  • 1 cup whisked curd
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • Vanilla
  • Dry ingredients
  • 1 1/2 cups flour/maida
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
  • salt
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped strawberries
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips


  • Wash, hull and pat dry the strawberries. Chop into tiny bits. Sprinkle some flour over the chopped bits and mix well. Set aside.
  • Measure the chocolate chips, sprinkle some flour and mix well. Set aside.
  • Preheat oven at 180C for 15 minutes.
  • In a mixing bowl, add 1/2 cup oil, 1 cup whisked curd, 3/4 cup sugar and mix well till all the ingredients are incorporated. If adding vanilla extract or essence you can add now. I added scrapped pith from vanilla bean along with sugar.
  • Sift the dry ingredients (flour+ salt + baking powder) and add to the wet ingredients mixture.
  • Mix well and whisk for few minutes.
  • Add chocolate chips and strawberries. Fold gently.
  • Pour the batter into a greased and dusted cake pan (7 or 6.5"). Tap the sides.
  • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 30-35 minutes. Once done test with knife or tester at multiple places.
  • Allow the cake to cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Serve strawberry chocolate chip cake recipe warm with coffee.


1. You can chopped nuts instead of chocolate chips.
2. Make sure to mix strawberry and chocolate chips with flour before adding to the batter.
3. You can even make cupcake with this batter
