  • 8-10 bread slices
  • 1 cup crumbled paneer about 200 grams
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped bell peppers
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 to mato finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chaat masala powder
  • 1 green chili slit
  • 1 small piece of ginger crushed
  • Butter or oil for toasting the sandwich
  • 2 teaspoons oil for filling
  • Salt


  • Thaw and crumble the paneer thoroughly. Heat 2 teaspoons oil in a kadai. Add cumin seeds and let it splutter. Add green chilies and saute well. Now add finely chopped onions and saute well till color changes slightly.
  • Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute well till it turns mushy. Now add the chopped bell peppers and mix well. Add salt, garam masala and mix well. Cook in medium flame for 5-6 minutes.
  • Add crumbled paneer and mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes. Add chaat masala powder, mix well and remove from flame.
  • Take a bread slice and apply butter on both sides. Place about 2 tablespoons of prepared paneer and close with other bread slice. Apply some butter and grill or toast in sandwich maker. Repeat the same with remaining bread slices. Serve paneer sandwich hot.


1. You can add some amchur powder in the filling for a tangy taste.
2. You can add carrots along with bell peppers.
3. If you do not have a sandwich maker, toast the prepared sandwich in dosa tava or in oven
