I have heard and read a lot about this cucumber lemon detox water but never had a chance to try it. Last week I had a reader write to me asking for few detox drink recipes. I was not sure as I am not much authoritative about it. I mean I have never been in a detox diet or any diet for that matter and never had a detox drink before. I was talking to my health and fitness freak friend regarding this cucumber lemon detox drink and she vouched me for that.
She said she had had this cucumber lemon detox drink so many times and it is really good. She said she usually makes the drink before night and let it infuse throughout. The healthy benefits of this cucumber lemon detox water is amazing. I prepared the drink exactly as my friend said and I kind of liked the taste. Since we add ginger and mint leaves you will not miss sugar here. It is a great recipe for those who are not very keen on drinking water every now and then. So much better than having store bought flavored water and stuff.
To make this cucumber lemon detox drink we simple need to add 1 sliced cucumber, 1 sliced lemon, 1 teaspoon grated young ginger and few mint leaves in a pitcher. Add water and let it sit overnight or 4 hours. Then you can strain or drink as such. You can add some ice cubes if you prefer.
Cucumber lemon detox water helps in increasing your metabolism, it has anti aging properties, helps in flushing out toxins, helps in weight loss, cleanses the organs and aids in digestion. This detox water is not your food replacement. This is just a drink to replace water.
You may have to consume this regularly for sometime to see the benefits, however cucumber, lemon, mint and ginger are only good for you 🙂

Cucumber lemon detox water recipe
1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 10 glasses of water
- 1 cucumber thinly sliced
- 1 lemon or lime thinly sliced
- 15 mint leaves
- 1 teaspoon grated young ginger
- A pitcher or big jar
Instructions
- Add all the ingredients in a pitcher and let it sit for overnight
- Drink throughout next day instead of water. You may strain if needed. Add ice cubes if you wish
