Custard is basically a sweet sauce traditionally prepared with eggs. Vegetarians use corn flour or store bought custard powder which is basically flavored corn flour again.
Mango custard is a dessert where a sweet custard sauce is mixed with sweetened mango puree and served chilled.
This mango custard is easy and tasty dessert that kids and toddlers will enjoy during hot summers. It gets ready in minutes and you need just 4 main ingredients. Furthermore you can garnish the dessert with roasted nuts or just some more mango puree. This is the best make ahead dessert with fresh mango puree.

Ingredients For Mango Custard
To make mango custard recipe I have used vanilla flavored custard powder. Vanilla flavor compliments the mango very well. However you can also use mango flavored custard powder. In the absence of custard powder you can use corn flour and vanilla extract.
Use sweet ripe mangoes for best flavor and taste. Choose mangoes that are less fibrous.
Along with mangoes you can also use some mashed bananas.
Serve mango custard as dessert once chilled.
How to make mango custard recipe (step by step).
1. First of all boil and cool the milk to room temperature.
2. Take custard powder in a small bowl. Add 1/4 cup room temperature milk.
3. Mix without lumps. Set aside.
4. Now start boiling the remaining milk in low flame. Add sugar and mix well. Cook for 5-6 minutes.
5. Once the sugar is dissolved add the prepared custard mixture and mix well. Make sure to mix very well so that lumps are not formed.
6. Cook in low flame for 10-12 minutes.
7. Cook till the custard thickens and coat the back of a ladle. Remove from flame and let cool.
8. While the custard is cooling, peel and roughly chop the mangoes. Blend to a smooth puree. You can add 2 teaspoons sugar if needed.
9. Pour the mango puree into cooled custard.
10. Mix well. Chill for 3-4 hours before serving.
11. Garnish with roasted nuts just before serving.

Mango Custard Recipe (Eggless)
1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 2 cups Milk full fat, boiled and cooled
- 1 cup Mango puree From 2 ripe mangoes
- 2 tablespoons custard powder vanilla or mango flavored
- 3 tablespoons sugar
Instructions
