Taco shell recipe with step by step photos. Sharing here a little experiment of mine that was hugely successful. I shared an easy recipe for vegetarian tacos sometime back. Since then I wanted to try taco shell recipe at home from scratch. I thought of buying a taco mould but did not find a perfect one. Then my making taco shells mission took a back seat :P. Last week I was clearing off old magazines and I remembered an old issue of good food with this taco shells recipe from scratch, that I had saved. I made these taco shells recipe the next day itself.
I made a desi style taco shell recipe similar to methi kakara. The best point is these taco shells are baked and it is a zero oil recipe. Yep these taco shells were so crunchy and crispy despite the fact these are oil free. I have used a combination of wheat flour and maida. You can use either wheat flour alone or maida alone. The spices added to these shells make these shells so tasty on their own. Kasuri methi, chili powder, amchur, turmeric powder and ginger green chilies.. these taco shells are good enough to eat as snack without any filling :). I did make a delicious Indian chaat filling for these tacos.
To make taco shells recipe in oven we need a metal rack. I used the grilling rack that came with my oven. I made small taco shells to fit in my small oven. These taco shells keep well for 10 -15 days when stored airtight.
Serve taco shells with your favorite filling, sauce and salad.

I recommend that you fork it before baking to prevent inflation.
