Take 1 roughly chopped onion, 15 cashews, 3 garlic cloves, 1 piece ginger, 3 green chilies, 2 teaspoon cumin seeds, 2 teaspoons poppy seeds/ kasakasa in a mixer jar. Add required water and grind to a fine paste.
Heat 2 teaspoons butter or ghee in a pan. Add 1 bay leaf, 2 cloves, 2 cardamom and saute well. Add finely chopped onions and saute till they turn pink
Add chopped tomatoes and saute well for 5-7 minutes.
Add the ground masala and mix well. Cook in medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
Add 1 cup water and season with salt.
Add well beaten curd and mix well. Simmer for 5-7 minutes.
Add paneer cubes and mix gently. Simmer for 3 more minutes. Garnish with cilantro leaves and serve paneer korma hot.
Notes
1. You can add almonds instead of cashews 2. Vegans can try tofu instead of paneer
