Bombay ice halwa recipe with step by step photos. A very unique and easy to make melt in mouth ice halwa, a popular sweet from Bombay (Mumbai). Ice halwa gets it name from its color and texture. It is white as ice, very cool and texture is melt in mouth. A very easy to make elegant and delicious dessert you can make in no time.
I tasted this ice halwa through my friend. I was so delicious and when she shared the recipe I wanted to try it out immediately. I searched few recipes online and found the procedure to be same as my friend shared. Few recipes called for corn flour or rava instead of maida. So I went ahead and tried this bombay ice halwa recipe with wheat flour. Yes it is my healthy take on bombay ice halwa.
To make bomba ice halwa recipe we need just 6 ingredients. My halwa is not white as ice, as I have used wheat flour. if you make ice halwa with corn flour or maida, the color will be light.
Serve ice halwa at room temperature as dessert or snack.

How to make bombay ice halwa with step by step photos.
1. Mix wheat flour,milk, sugar and ghee in a thick bottomed pan.
2. Start cooking in low flame. keep whisking continuously.
3. The mixture will bubble up and start getting thicker.
4. At one stage the whole mixture will become a soft lump.
5. Quickly transfer the mixture to a greased butter paper.
6. Close with another piece of paper and roll the mixture into a thin sheet. Roll it as thin as you can.
7. Sprinkle cardamom powder and chopped nuts generously. Gently press.
8. Refrigerate for 2 hours.
9. Using a kitchen scissor cut through the halwa into small squares along with buter paper. Store in airtight container. While serving, peel off the paper and serve at room temperature.
Note: You can remove the paper and then slice the halwa,but cutting with a kitchen scissor in much easy

1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup wheat flour or maida or corn flour

- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
- A pinch of cardamom powder
