Braided garlic bread recipe with step by step photos. Sharing an amazingly delicious,gorgeous looking braided bread with subtle garlic flavor. It was my long time wish to try a braided bread and finally tried this braided garlic bread recipe.
I followed my usual garlic bread recipe and just made it braided. For more flavor and taste I gave the braided bread an infused oil wash before baking. I have made this braided garlic bread recipe vegan. You could easily use soft butter or milk wash instead of oil wash. I have used whole wheat flour to make this braided garlic bread and it was so nice and flavorful. It had a wonderful crust and soft inside. Perfect to serve with soup on a cold day.
To make braided garlic bread recipe, you can use whole wheat flour or maida. I have used only wheat flour. To make infused oil, mixin your favorite herbs, miced garlic and chili flakes in olive oil. Mix it and let it soak for 2 hours. You can bottle this infused oil and use in pizza pasta and bread recipes too.
Serve garlic bread warm with soup or as a snack with a dip.

Step by step braided garlic bread recipe
1. Add 3/4 tablespoon sugar in 1 cup luke warm water. Mix well. Sprinkle 3/4 tablespoon dry yeast over it and let it proof.
2. Once the yeast water turns frothy, take it in a mixing bowl.
3. Add 2 cups wheat flour, 1 teaspoon minced garlic, 2 teaspoons olive oil and salt. Mix well and start kneading.
4. Knead and make a soft and smooth dough. Let the dough proof for 2 hours. In the mean time let us prepare infused oil.
5. Take 2 tablespoons olive in a small bowl. Add 1 teaspoon minced garlic, chili flakes and dried parsley to it. Mix well and let in infuse well.
6. Now to make braided bread, take the raised dough and punch it back. Knead slightly.
7. Divide the dough into 2 equal parts. Take one art of dough and divide into 3 small balls.
8. Roll each ball into thin cylinder.
9. Place the three ropes in parallel and make braid. Make one more read with remaining dough.
10. Brush the braid with infused oil. Cover and rest for 40 minutes.
11. Preheat oven 15 minutes before baking. Bake the raised bread in hot oven for 15-18 minutes at 180 C/ 350 F. Serve braided garlic bread warm.
