Breakfast on the go!

If you are super busy for a sit down breakfast, smoothies may be your best bet. Combine your favorite fruit with milk of your choice, throw in some seeds or nuts, sweetener as preferred and there you go, perfect breakfast on the go!

I often make various smoothie recipes for breakfast or even for snack. Some of our favorite smoothies are strawberry smoothie, mango smoothie, pineapple smoothie, papaya, banana and this is figs smoothie is a top favorite too.

I like to make this fig smoothie with fresh figs when they are in season. The teeny tiny seeds of fresh figs just add a nice texture to this smoothie and fresh fruit adds incredible flavor to this smoothie. However you can also make this smoothie with dried fig, see instructions below.

How To Prepare Figs Smoothie With Fresh Figs?

To make smoothie with fresh figs, just rinse and roughly chop the figs. Blend it along with some almonds, sugar or honey, coconut milk and it is done!

This fig smoothie recipe is vegan. I have used unrefined cane sugar, coconut milk, almonds and fresh figs. You can make this smoothie in many other ways. I have listed some variations for you below.

Fig Smoothie With Dried Figs.

You can also make this smoothie easily with dried figs. Dried figs are hard and difficult to blend. So soak them in warm water for 30 minutes. Drain and blend with other ingredients.\

Fig Smoothie Variations

Which Milk To Use?

You can use any type of milk you prefer in this recipe. Some fruits should not be mixed with dairy milk but fig goes with all types of milk. If you want vegan smoothie then use coconut milk or almond mill or even rice milk, otherwise you can use full fat or skimmed dairy milk.

Which Sweetener can we use?

Hone, cane sugar, stevia, brown sugar, jaggery can be some relatively healthy sweeteners for this smoothie.

Other add-ons:

To give some flavor, volume and texture you can use a handful of almonds as I did here. You can also use 1 small frozen banana, some walnuts etc.

Use chilled fruit and coconut milk to make cold smoothie. I do not prefer adding ice cubes as it thins down the drink.
