I have tasted oats cookies in many places and the one we get in our local bakery is my absolute favorite. Those cookies are soft, chewy yet crispy in the edges without the flavor of oats over powering. I made this oats cookies trying to achieve the same taste and I added a handful of raisins to the cookie dough for more flavor, bite and taste. These oats cookies turned out to be awesome, so tasty just like the way I wanted. the whole 25 cookies were gone within 3 days!
To make oats cookies recipe, I have used normal quick cooking oats, whole wheat flour and butter. You ca use maida for more light colored cookie, but addition of whole wheat flour makes the cookies way healthy.
These oats cookies keep well for up to 10 days at room temperature. Serve oats cookies with coffee or tea, you can even pack this in snack/tiffin for toddlers and kids!

1. Preheat oven at 180C for 15 minutes. Cream butter and sugar together very well until creamy. Add vanilla and mix well. Add all the other ingredients and bring together like a dough. Add 1-2 tablespoons milk if the mixture refuses to bind. Fold in the raisins and mix gently.
2. Divide the dough into 25-28 equal sized balls and press slightly. Arrange in cookie sheet and bake till the edges turn slightly brown for about 12-15 minutes. The cookies may appear soft after 15 minutes, but on cooling they will turn crispy.
3. Store oats cookies airtight and serve as needed.

1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1 cup quick cooking oats
- 3/4 cup whole wheat flour or maida
- 1/2 cup butter soft
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar can use up to 1 cup
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
