Date cookies recipe with step by step photos.
1. Melt butter in a pan and remove to a mixing bowl. Add sugar and mix well.
2. Sift wheat flour, baking powder and baking soda. Add the dry ingredients to the melted butter.
3. Add chopped date, chopped walnuts.
4. Mix everything together and incorporate well.
5. Preheat oven to 180C. Divide the dough into 15-18 equal sized portions. Take a portion and tighten with your hand and form a ball. Press slightly and shape like a cookie. Place in a greased cookie tray. Repeat the same with the remaining dough.
6. Bake the shaped cookies in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes. Serve date cookies warm or at room temperature.
Vegan option: Use vegan butter instead of dairy butter

1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 125 grams butter melted
- 1/2 cup dates chopped
- 1/2 cup walnut chopped
- 1/2 cup sugar fine variety
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions
- Melt butter and take in a mixing bowl.
- Add sugar to melted butter and mix well.
- Sift wheat flour along with baking powder and soda.
- Add to the butter mixture.
- Add chopped dates and walnuts.
- Mix well and incorporate all the ingredients.
- Preheat oven to 180C.
- Divide the cookie dough into15-18 portions. Shape each portion into a cookie.
- Arrange the shaped cookies in the baking tray and bake for 15-18 minutes.
- Serve date cookies or store airtight after cooling.
