Punjabi missi roti

Missi roti recipe

Missi roti recipe with step by step photos. Punjabi missi roti is a popular Indian flat bread recipe made with whole wheat flour, chickpea flour or gram flour and few spice powders.

Missi roti is a Punjabi staple and often made in many other states of north India too. I make missi roti often at home. It is a very good change to the regular roti that we make. The flavor of chickpea flour or besan along with onions is too good. I have tasted missi roti in Punjabi restaurants too. It is usually served with some butter in restaurants. Here in this recipe I have used onions to flavor the missi roti. You can make missi roti with methi leaves or fenugreek leaves too. Other options for making missi roti are grated carrots, grated beets, cabbage. You can even make these flat breads plain.

Missi roti is served with dal, any paneer curry, pickle, curd etc. To make it more special top the roti with a small dollop of white butter before serving.
