Kheer is a milk based Indian sweet pudding. The most popular one is rice kheer. Making rice kheer is elaborate and takes some time. So we do have some handy kheer recipes like this apple kheer that takes just 15 minutes to prepare.
This kheer tastes just like rabdi with apple flavor so you can also call this apple rabdi. Though it is easy to make this kheer with condensed milk, I have also mentioned the variations below.
This was a very favorite dessert while growing up. Anything with milkmaid was considered exotic and this kheer was too. We would eagerly gobble chilled kheer with loads of cashews.
Keeping the recipe as base, I often play with flavors while making this kheer. Sometimes I add a small boiled carrot along with apples. You can also add pears.
Apple kheer tastes best when served chilled with loads of nuts. I also added a dollop of gulkand and that immensely increased the flavor. If you feel it is very sweet, you can leave it out.
Serve apple kheer preferable chilled in individual cups for a wonderful dessert.

To make apple kheer recipe with condensed milk, bring by boiling 2 cups of full fat milk. Once the milk comes to a boil, add condensed milk and mix well. Simmer this for 10-12 minutes until it thickens and reduces a bit in volume.
Add cardamom powder and mix well. Now add the grated apples and mix well, Simmer for just 2 minutes. Chill until serving.

How To Make Apple Kheer Recipe
Bring milk to a boil and then add the sweetened condensed milk. Mix well and simmer for 15 minutes.
Add cardamom powder and mix well. Add grated apples and mix well.
Simmer for a minute or two.
Serve chilled with roasted nuts.
How To Make Apple Kheer Without Condensed milk?
For making apple kheer without condensed milk use 1/2 cup for 2 cups milk. Boil the milk, add sugar and mix well. Cook till it reduces n volume by 1/3rd. Add cardamom powder and mix well. Add grated apples and simmer for 2 minutes. Chill and serve.
Make it Vegan
To make this kheer vegan just use sugar or jaggery and dairy free milk instead of condensed milk.
