Chocolate burfi recipe with step by step photos. Today I am sharing an easy to make chocolate burfi recipe with khoya/mawa for Diwali 2015. There are many variations in chocolate burfi recipe, I have shared earlier a very quick chocolate barfi recipe with condensed milk, chocolate burfi can also be made with khoya, milk powder or even maida.
Last week I saw a box of aavin khoya chocolate burfi in a shop and I was immediately tempted to try this at home. The painstaking task of making khoya at home was a barrier but when I saw the pack of unsweetened khoya at Nilgiri’s I picked it at once and made this chocolate burfi the next day 🙂
Though this is a very easy recipe, it is extremely important to remove the khoya mixture from the heat at the right moment. If you remove it early the burfi will be very sticky and chewy, if you leave it for more time in stove the mixture will turn rock hard and you will not be able to spread.
To make chocolate burfi recipe you need just 4 ingredients. Unsweetened khoya, sugar, cocoa powder ad any flavoring of your choice. No ghee is needed f0r making this chocolate burfi, just few drops to grease the paper. I was very busy while doing this so few steps are missing in step wise photos. Also I spread the mixture tad thin and made thin burfis, you can make thick/thin burfi as you prefer. Whichever way you make these chocolate burfis are one delicious treat, so tasty and rich, a must for chocolate lovers. You can garnish the burfi with chopped pistachios or cashews or mixed nuts. This is a best sweet for packing and gifting too. It stays good for 4-5 days in room temperature.
