Once i used agar agar for making strawberry cheesecake and then this mango jelly, I am hooked to it and tried my hands at various recipes using agar agar like this chocolate panna cotta recipe. Once you get the hang out of it, agar agar is very easy to handle and sets beautifully in room temperature. However I set this chocolate panna cotta in fridge to serve it chilled.
To make chocolate panna cotta recipe we need cocoa powder , low fat fresh cream, milk, vanilla, sugar and agar agar. Just a handful of ingredients that are easily available. The whole cooking is done on stove top under 15 minutes and the panna cotta sets within 20 minutes. Only time needed is for the dessert to chill.
Serve chocolate panna cotta cold as dessert.

Step by Step Chocolate Panna Cotta Recipe
1. Soak chopped agar agar in 1 1/2 cup milk for 10 minutes. Simmer for 15 minutes whisking well to dissolve the agar agar flakes thoroughly.
2. In the mean time mix powdered sugar, cream and vanilla. Mix thoroughly and set aside.
3. Once the agar agar flakes have dissolved well in the simmering milk, add cocoa powder and mix well. Mix and whisk well to make a smooth mixture.
4. Filter this to remove remaining agar agar flakes if any.
5. Add this cocoa milk mixture to the sweetened cream and mix well.
6. Pour in molds and set aside for 3-4 hours. Actually it well set within 30 minutes. Sitting time is for the dessert to chill. unmold and serve chocolate panna cotta chilled

Chocolate panna cotta recipe - eggs and gelatin free
1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups milk boiled and at room temperature.
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 100 ml fresh cream
- 4 tablespoons powdered sugar
- 2 grams agar agar
- Vanilla extract
Instructions
