peanut chutney recipe is a regular fare in many Tamil homes and some variations are made to avoid boredom. Tomatoes or cilantro leaves or grated coconut can be added to peanut chutney recipe. Dry roasted and peeled peanuts are best used in peanut chutney recipe. Adding tomatoes give a nice color and flavor to this chutney.
To make peanut tomato chutney use nice ripe tomatoes for best flavor. I have used dried red chilies and some tamarind along with other ingredients.

Step by step peanut tomato chutney recipe
1. Dry roast and rub the skin off the peanuts.
2. Heat 1 teaspoon oil in a pan and fry 3-4 dried red chilies. To that add 2 chopped tomatoes, a small piece of tamarind and saute well till the tomatoes are cooked. let cool thoroughly.
3. grind the sauteed tomatoes, along with roasted peanuts and required salt.
4. In the same pan, heat 2 teaspoons oil. Temper with mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves. Add to the prepared chutney and mix well. Serve peanut chutney with dosa or idli.

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup peanuts roasted
- 2 large tomatoes chopped
- 3-4 dried red chilies
- A small piece of tamarind
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon oil
- To temper:
- 2 teaspoons oil
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon urad dal
- curry leaves

I have tried your paniyaram with kara chutney. It was simply superb. Loved it. My mother in law used to make it soaking all soughts of lentils and rice but loved your version of rava. Its so easy and not time consuming
