I have been getting a lot of requests for whole wheat vegetable pizza recipe in the past few months. I bake veg pizza at home at least once in a month. Homemade veg pizza with overloaded toppings is our favorite dinner when we crave for something spicy and cheesy. I usually make 100% whole wheat veg pizza but at times I add some multigrain flours too. If we really wanna indulge or making for guests I make with maida :). This pizza recipe I am sharing today is 100% whole wheat pizza with a nice crispy crust and mixed veg toppings. Usually I always hear from my readers that whole wheat pizza base turns out to be dense, not soft and not tasty too. Follow this recipe for tasty, light and crispy whole wheat veg pizza
To make whole wheat vegetable pizza, for base we need whole wheat flour, yeast, oil, salt, water and some rava for making the base crispy. I usually add a dash of chili flakes and herbs to my base also. For toppings I have used tricolor bell peppers and onions. You can user baby corn, paneer, olives too.

Step by step whole wheat vegetable pizza recipe.
1.Take 3/4 cup luke warm water in a small bowl. Add sugar and mix. Sprinkle yeast over it and mix well. Set aside for 15 minutes for yeast to get active.
2. Once yeast is frothy and bubbly add 2 cup whole wheat flour, salt, 2 tablespoons olive oil and desired herbs to it. Mix very well with a wooden spoon. Once everything comes together start kneading. Knead for 7-10 minutes until the dough turns soft and supple. Rest for 1.5 hours.
3. Once the dough is leavened and doubled in volume, punch it back and knead slightly. Divide the dough into two parts. I used one part to make a single 9″ inch pizza.
4. Preheat oven at 190C. Take the dough on a slightly floured surface. Spread the dough into a 9″ circle. I usually spread with hands. You can use a rolling pin for a neat circle. Grease a pizza plate and sprinkle some rava on it for crispy base. Transfer the rolled dough.
5. Spread 1 teaspoon olive oil on the rolled dough and spread well.
6. Spread 1/4 cup pizza sauce and spread well. Sprinkle some grated cheese.
7. Arrange the toppings and required seasoning. Spread more cheese. I usually add some seasoning on cheese too. Bake in preheated oven for 18-20 minutes. Slice and serve whole wheat vegetable pizza hot.

Yes, you can. Bake the base for 6-8 minutes. Store it well covered and while baking pizza, arrange the toppings and cheese and bake for 10-12 minutes. Hope this helps!
