Which Variety Of Mangoes Are best For Falooda?
To make mango falooda recipe use ripe alphonso mangoes for vibrant color. If you are just concerned about taste and not color, any type of ripe mango can be used.
I used homemade rose ice cream to top the falooda but I melted immediately before I could capture.
Making falooda is so simple once you have the ingredients. The only work involved here is simmering the milk for 10 minutes and boiling the falooda sev. once they are ready and chilled, its just layering. Make sure to chill the glass for at least 30 minutes before layering.
Variations with Mango Falooda
If fine sev or falooda sev is not available in your place you can use boiled thin rice noodles.
Instead of basil seeds you can use chia seeds
You can use this mango mastini as base and build your falooda around it too.
Use mango ice cream, pista ice cream or rose ice cream for topping.
Instead of rose jelly you can use this mango jelly or even store bought jujubes or jellies.

Add 2 tablespoons sugar to 1 1/2 cup milk and simmer for 10 minutes. Chill the milk for an hour or 2.
Soak sabja seeds in water for 1 hour, strain and set aside.
Cook falooda sev as per package instructions and set aside.
Puree 3 alphonso mangoes and chop one mango finely.

1 CUP = 250 ml
Ingredients
- 1 cup mango puree
- 1/2 cup finely chopped mangoes
- 1 1/4 cup milk reduced to 1 cup with 2 tablespoons sugar
- 1/4 cup cooked falooda sev
- 2 teaspoons soaked and drained sabja seeds
- Rose jelly cubes
- Ice cream
- Chopped nuts
- Cherries
Instructions
- Add 2 tablespoons sugar to 1 1/2 cup milk and simmer for 10 minutes. Cook falooda sev as per package instructions and set aside.
- Chill the milk for an hour or two,
